Master Bath Updates: Spa from Home
One of the easier spaces to upgrade in your home is the bathroom. It is often smaller than most rooms, and therefore a makeover isn’t as daunting to begin. When done intentionally, a well-designed and decorated bathroom space can really transform your lifestyle. Here are some easy tips and simple products that can bring a spa-like environment into your home.
Fresh Towels
One area of my life that I never skimp on is a quality towel. Keep a stack of your favorite towels on hand in your bathroom either on a hanging wall shelf, rolled in a straw basket, or in a wooden bowl. Not only does it look luxurious in your space, but it’s also great to always keep clean ones on hand. A few of my current favorites are the Giant Waffle Guest Towels from HAY as well as the Luxury Egyptian Cotton Towels from The White Company. To give yourself and your space the full spa treatment, get them in a lighter color tone like white, cream, or gray.

Candles or Room Sprays
An easy way to immediately elevate your bathroom is with candles or room sprays. Display them in groups or on candelabras or candle holders to add a bit of elegance. I love to use more natural scents in the bathroom, focusing on earthier scents or florals to keep it smelling more spa-like, but of course, choose your own preferences. A favorite of mine is the UMA Pure Calm Wellness Candle which features calming botanicals like lavender and chamomile helping to reduce stress and soothe the nervous system. It is pure bliss!

Beautiful Storage
Using an antique tray is a beautiful way to display your products, oils, or bath salts. Displaying products in a purposeful way and keeping them organized will immediately add more peace to your space, rather than having products all over the countertop or jumbled in a drawer. This Vanity Storage from Anthropolgie is a great way to organize your makeup while keeping things looking fresh, and your makeup brushes clean. Another beautiful option for larger products is this Bleecker Bar Tray from Potterybarn which would look so elegant displaying perfumes or bath oils. Using antique silver trays, wooden trays or marble slabs are other great options when looking for ways to keep products clean and organized.

Plants and Natural Objects
An easy way to freshen up your shower space is by hanging a grouping of eucalyptus leaves in your shower. The steam from the shower will help to open up the leaves, filling up your space with an incredible aroma. Another way to bring life and nature into the bathroom is by choosing a houseplant that fits into the space. Hang one off of a shelf, or create a small terrarium with succulents or air plants to add some lively greenery. Another favorite element to add is stones or larger rocks that can be placed around the bathtub or on the countertops. Adding a more architectural element will give it a more modern, grounding update.

Rugs
You want to be sure to soften the space up with a plush rug. Note that in order to keep your bathroom space looking spa-centric, you will want to find a rug that can be easily washed. Keep a thicker one by the sink, and use a bath towel that can be easily cleaned or a wooden mat like this one from West Elm by the bathtub. It will add a nice balance to the room by featuring different textured surfaces. A great washable rug to invest in is the Braided Hand Knit Rug from Parachute. It feels amazing on your feet and looks nice up against any sort of flooring.
